Mind Matters but Heart Matters More

Life is wonderful, unless I think about it!

The mind is such a terrible thing to waste. It seems that was how the public service announcement against using drugs was quoted.

Indeed, the mind is capable of being magnificent.

thinker, mind, brain, thought
Life is wonderful, unless I think about it!

It is also capable of being our worst enemy.

Several months ago I stopped writing my Secrets to Peace because my mind said I was done. “I have said all I have to say” was one of the messages I heard within. “Who are you to think you have anything to teach?” was another effective voice echoing inside my head.

Yesterday morning I was deleting some five year old emails when I read this from Paul Ferrini:

Dear Elliott,

What is the nature of the work you are called to?

Simply stated, you are being asked to be the instrument of love in a time of fear. You are part of the great constellation of love givers.

You are coming together now to speed up the collective awakening of human consciousness on planet Earth.

You are not the ones who will actually do this. However, the process will go through you.

Your surrender to the energy of unconditional love in your body, your mind and your heart makes this possible.

Your commitment to share with others is also necessary. Because of this you are collaborative, cooperative, open, and strive to see the best in others.

You do not desire to fix or to save others. but instead empower others to heal from within.

You know that when we heal we do not heal alone and you are committed to building a healing community at home for yourself and others.

Because you have learned to get out of the way, this work of healing and transformation can be entrusted to you.

Blessings,

Paul Ferrini

This lovely note was written to me in a more poetic manner than in the style I am sharing here, but reading this, five years after it was offered, was exactly what I needed.  Every ounce of my being has wanted to return to sharing my thoughts about living and loving, but I have been resisting.

It is time that I ignore the critical E.T. and once again re-commit to following my heart.

I cannot promise, this morning, how often I will post in my new Secrets to Peace blog, but I intend to share what is in my heart several times a week.

I deeply appreciate each of you. I appreciate your patience and I am thankful for your participation; for your sharing of love and wisdom as this new blog launches.

  2. Thank you Elliott. I have missed you! I always enjoyed reading your thoughts. The column you wrote about Abraham Lincoln particularly touched my soul.

  3. I am so happy that you are writing Secrets to Peace again. I love getting your thoughts each day. It always gives me something to think about.

  4. We all need a break from time to time. This what a loving mind knows. We all missed you and I’m glade that now you have a renew sprite and thank you for your love.

    1. Thank you John. I am committed to writing when I have something to say and not beating myself up when I feel energized to spend my time working on another project. I do not like what I write when I force myself to write. I love it when the writing is fun.

      Thank you for being here.

      I love and appreciate you!
